It has been announced that British Eurosport will continue to broadcast MotoGP in 2009, but will not show live coverage of the MotoGP races.

Intended to 'compliment' the BBC's service, British Eurosport will air all practice and qualifying sessions live from the Friday and Saturday of each grand prix weekend, followed by live coverage of the 125cc and 250cc races on Sundays. The MotoGP races will be available on the channel on a same-day-delayed basis.

IT SNOWED TODAY. I was more excited to see the Gmail weather theme reflecting that though. I only like watching it fall. I have a stupid tradition of finding my cat and dropping her in any bit that settles.

Valentino Rossi injured in home accident

MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi has injured his hand and foot after falling at his Italian home.
The 29-year-old was closing the curtains in his house when he tripped and fell on to a glass table.
The table smashed and Rossi cut his ring finger on his left hand and the sole of his left foot. He went straight to hospital where he received a few stitches in each injury.
The injury is not serious, but a decision is yet to be made whether he will be able to ride comfortably in Malaysia at this week’s MotoGP tests, which begin on Thursday.
A statement released from Yamaha said the Italian will fly to Malaysia today as planned, adding: “The injuries are not serious but it is not yet clear whether or not they will make him uncomfortable when riding this week.
"Nevertheless Rossi will fly out to Malaysia today as planned, where he will try to give 100% at the first test of the season, which starts on Thursday..”

Jesus Christ. I'm laughing at the absurdity of the whole thing. His career is a series of giant risks and an accident befitting an old woman causes him more damage. Completely sober too, I bet. IT WAS ALMOST CURTAINS FOR YOU, MR. ROSSI

Oh well fuck it then

(smcl) Oh Well
I don't understand a world that keeps Peter Collins at his job but fires Eurosport. Who needs full race weekend coverage when you can have half hour highlights of one race at 12am? Who needs hilarious, slightly politically incorrect commentary when you can have chats about the sand at Qatar?
Dorna: fuck bitches get money.

Ffffff )

Saint's Row 2 is so hilariously stupid in the best way possible. Assless chaps and gold thongs have never provided me with so much entertainment.

Vroom vroom.

Only one more race left in moto. It's was a damn good year for racing, only spoiled when Dorna announced they cancelled their deal with Eurosport for a list of shitty reasons. The commentators are what really got me into the sport properly and going back to terrestrial viewing will be depressing. ANYWAY. I really like this layout. I made chili/ginger/garlic/tomato sauce and it was so delicious but the fukken heartburn is killing me. Worth it though.

I love this clip. Toby Moody freaking the hell out is hilarious. Randy: "Casey's looking a little bit like a chinese man in his helmet because he's got a big smile on his face". Uh.

Colin Edwards is pretty awesome.
Yeah, you know, I mean, Tiger Woods, he hasn't got anything on Valentino. I mean, as far as worldwide popularity, it's just insane. I mean, it's not normal. I know he makes a lot of money, but I'm quite different as far as -- you know, I like to have my privacy, I love living in Texas. I come out here and shoot my guns and drink some beer and nobody, it's not on the front page of the newspaper the next day. And I didn't mean to say shoot guns and drink beer in the same sentence there, obviously at separate times.

Hands down the best part of the season. Picspam. )

I lost most of my ability to taste and smell in July. It doesn't bother me much because I can eat lemons and limes now, they are delicious.

My whole summer. The end/.

This is the best.

Huh. I'm basically finished school on the 30th of this month. Until exams starting on the 11th of May. This is delicious. Except, I bet I fall asleep for that whole period of time and forget to study. Life would be less interesting without a bit of easily avoidable blind panic now and again. Maybe.

MotoGP is back in my life, starting tomorrow. I can't believe I'm obsessed with a dumb sport but whatever.

Things Other People Accomplished
When They Were Your Age

What a depressing page. I count getting out of bed without grimacing at the fact that it's another day with people and things to be an accomplishment. One day I will achieve this!

At age 23:
Nikki put no effort into anything and drank a lot of coffee.

Finally bought the Band of Brothers box-set. I was too cheap to ever buy it at full price, so I waited for sales. 58% off! Omg. I do love opening the cardboard-y Amazon packages-of-love. I didn't answer the door to sign for it, so my crazy postman threw it in the window.

Acquired one of those Vox yokes. I like having accounts on new and confusing sites, even if I'll end up never using it.

I was going crazy last week because I had to get up too early to properly fill my body with caffeine, but then I remembered that I had an Evil Dead thermal flask. It's so classy, and also the image on it resembles my face in the mornings. zOmBiEs.

P.S.

11th to 1st!

We're off to Button Moon.

I had a raspberry yop for dinner.

I'm going to grow a beard at age fifty. I keep lj-disappearing because I am rubbish & last night I dreamt about one of my flist but I won't say who because that's always creepy when you don't talk to them much.

Also I have to make about 80 vats of chili and 30 tonnes of salad things because my friend graduated college-y things so I am helping to throw a crazy party. The night before I have to start back at work! I will be burning all the candles from every conceivable angle to pull this one off.

The Donnington Motogp is Sunday and it's such an omgexciting season. I'm trying so hard not to be a pure Rossi fan, but all his silly bad luck is making it hard. And Hayden shapes his eyebrows like a lady. I am torn!

One of my friends tried to be vocabularily fancy with me this week by saying "It's a pugilist term, Nikki, you wouldn't understand". I never thought admitting to owning Young Guns on DVD would make me the champion of any argument but there's life/holy god being a mad-ee again. Me & Emilio Estevez have a connection now, don't deny.

il fait beau it's a lovely day

ffffff 6 cups of coffee and watching the MotoGP is slightly nervewracking! I need to do some ironing or find a man to make some tea for to calm my jitters.

I didn't get much sleep because my neighbours had a very loud Abba/Beyonce/Bon Jovi mix of music going on for someone's birthday last night. Young ruffians with their bouncy castles and singing. Off my lawn!

Important.
